is a freelance writer based in Eugene, Oregon. Her lifelong passion for writing started at age 7, when she penned a short story, and became a career at age 17, when she wrote her first successful grant application.
In 2009 Sophia began offering her services to a wide array of clients through a freelance writing practice. Her work has appeared in over two dozen publications including Acres USA, TeaTime, 1859 Oregon’s Magazine, Oregon Business and the Eugene Register-Guard. Sophia spent five years as a member of the marketing and communications team at St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County, a large nonprofit. Her primary role was coordinating digital communications (including managing the organization’s website and social media platforms), but she performed multiple other tasks as well. She shares her skills with several businesses that need assistance with writing, editing, communications and social media projects. See the Professional Services page for more information.
Sophia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Southern Oregon University and has taken several writing and editing courses at Lane Community College. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, craft projects and spending time with her husband and twin daughters.
